One more page from my art journal...when I'm feeling blue - Phil Collins
This journal has tested my patience as have been having so many technical difficulty. This is the second take where I only used gesso for my base and did not use any matte gel as it kept pealing off.
I need to get to root of the whys n the how's but till then...
My whts app is filling up fast with gift ideas for brother’s
and sister’s as Raksha Bandhan comes closer. A simple ceremony of sister tying a
sacred thread on her brothers wrist symbolising sister’s love and prayer for
brother’s well being and the brother’s lifelong vow to protect her, where
sister feeds brother, brother gives blessing and a token has become such a
stressful occasion. Each trying to up the game it has almost become a
competition. Will the love quota or the protection factor change if it’s not a
holiday trip or spa vouchers, designer outfits or customize jewellery? The
ability to complex the simplicity of the festival just amazes me…here’s me musing
over small stuff...
Thank you for all the lovely comments on my art journal page...happy, happy, happy :)
How are you all doing in your little corner of the world? Is the weather treating you well?
Am from Mumbai, India and the weather here is crazy. It's HOT in the morning, Cool breezy by noon and HOT again in the evening and COOLER by night. Just can't seem to make up its mind :)
After I had finished my Starry night page, I jumped into page two with great enthusiasm, which hit a roadblock soon. I was using distress ink and gelato's over gesso which would not just dry. I tried putting matt gel to seal it, but dint help. Then after heat drying for almost two days the distress ink finally dried. But then was not too happy as the sunflower was getting lost in the yellow. So changed the background to blue - sunflower was looking too lonely and I was getting too frustrated :(
the journey...
Anyway, I was not going to give up- so after layering and correcting I finally finished page two with John Denver's sunshine on my shoulders...Will revisit this page again soon...
The Finale
The Chinese are celebrating their New Year Xin Nian Kuai Le ...and according to Chinese astrology, each Chinese New Year is associated with an animal sign, occurring in a 12-year cycle. This is the year of the Goat and at the Diva's we are celebrating it too incorporating the symbol of goat in the tile. Here's my take on it.
Hello lovely bloggy friends... this weeks challenge at Diva's is to create a tile using Love as a theme... and here's my take. A mooka entwined :)
Since a very long long long time I have been wanting to create an art journal and in December I finally started one. I decided to use songs which I enjoy listening to as a start up and here's the first one. The journey was difficult. It took me almost a week to get to this, but I had made up my mind that like Zentangle there's no mistake and I just kept on going and this is the result.
...suggestion, criticism, feedback most welcome. Thank you and have an amazing week ahead :)
This weeks challenge at Diva is to Use My Tangles brougth to you by Eleanor Holt - and it is called Athitzi. A very simple and fun tangle to use. Enjoy and have a great week :)
