No strings attached...


This weeks challenge at "Iamthediva" is to tangle without using a string. As I wondered how I am going to do this an advice from Laura helped me to come up with this. 


As I browse through today's challenge my admiration for Laura grew. With the kind of challenges that she has in her life she still manages to blog, work, PAINT, zumba, make time for her niece!!  how on earth does she manage to juggle all this I wonder...is it that like this tile she doesn't let any string hold her down ...Cheers Laura...Your bubbly spirit is an inspiration to all...

So with no more delay a new year gift for my beloved Brother in law, who has been my pillar of strength, courage, wisdom, a great listener, excellent motivator...

I want to break free

Wow it’s been ages since I have blogged!!

Last couple of months have gone by so fast.

June brought me closer to my dream of doing a course on Story telling and Puppetry in education. It was a great honor to meet Ms Geeta Ramanujam of Kathalaya and Dr. Mirella. The workshop was in Bengalure where I also met my college friend Zebi after donkey years :D

July we went exploring Kutch where we visited Dholavira, which is one of the two largest Harappan sites in India, the white raan, Mandvi where Wooden Ships are built and many more places.

August brought school and Rita visiting :) and September..well September was Arts-week at school, where we made Paper Jelly fish, Paper bead bracelets, and with the older grades I had recycling challenge.

With all the happy chaos there was just no time to upload the challenges or even blog. I promised my self that this week no matter what I am going to upload the ZIA and so here we go...Thnx Laura a lovely challenge it is!!

Brownie Challenge :)

Hey Guys,
Hope you all had a great weekend.
A very Happy Mothers Day to all you mums and grand-mums.
Today's local newspaper had an article on graphic prints which are the newest rage on the international runway...



and here's my take on this weeks challenge at Laura's which is to create a sepia ZIA.
A very basic tile, I tried to create a tile without using a string and well... there is still hope :)

Groovy time

Hello Guys!!
First Monday of the new month and its UMT at Laura's. This week we have to use Groovy created by Eden  Cut'n It Up. A flowy, curvy tangle and very easy to learn, in fact one tends to get carried away with it :)




I liked the non-shaded and Roshni liked the shaded one so decided to put both of them up :)
Having shot them at night I might reload the pics tomorrow. Till then have a great day and if I don't see you guys before that, have a great weekend.

PS. Thank you all for the lovely comments on last week post, boosted my moral up and helped clearing the cobwebs!!

Amanda Day

Kids live in a lovely world of their own, straight from Enid Blyton's world with pixies and fairies, toys that can talk, elves and toads and magical garden.
This weeks  Laura shares  "A few weeks ago, Chewie spontaneously declared that he was going to give the Earth a new name - and for some reason, unknown to me, he decided that a good name for the Earth was Amanda.  Y'know, i don't even know if he's ever MET anyone named Amanda... but there you have it."
This reminded me of how when Roshni(now 14)  was 4...5...years old everything was why this, why that, why do we call the cat "cat" and not something else, who decides that the alphabets should start from ABC and not MYK so on and so forth...
Its such a lovely thing to see kids dreamy and confident, imaginative and bold and questioning everything around us...were we ever this way...as I am off to speak to my mum....do you remember your Amanda?

This month has been busy and trying to keep up with the Diva's Challenges has been even more challenging. I hate to miss the ZIA, makes me feel terrible...

I love Paradox!! I just can't get enough of it so here's my take...
